EXPO Ferroviaria 2023
TIME TO PLAN THE FUTURE OF RAILWAYS IN ITALY
The countdown is on for EXPO Ferroviaria 2023, Italy’s showcase for railway technologies, products and systems. The exhibition gathers every two years railway professionals from Italy, Europe and around the world to discuss new trends, discover the latest products and industry technologies, and foster their network with partners and market peers.
The 2023 edition will be held from 3 to 5 October 2023 at Fiera Milano Rho, Milan, Italy.
With a renewed public interest in rail travel, associated to a growing concern about climate change, new challenges are driving the attention of rail networks planners towards a more sustainable mobility. New priorities are making their way to bring modern, digitalised and sustainable infrastructure systems focused on reducing carbon emissions, offering attractive new development opportunities for companies in the sector.
Bringing together over 200 exhibitors, of which 21% from international markets, EXPO Ferroviaria has worked for over 20 years as the Italian reference platform for the exchange of know-how and discussions on trends, innovations, and opportunities within the sector. This year, 36% of exhibitors will be present for the first time, alongside the key players of the market to showcase technologies and innovative solutions. The 2023 exhibiting list includes names such as ABB, Alstom Ferroviaria, Hitachi Rail STS, Lucchini RS Spa, MA Group, Stadler Rail, or Titagarh Firema in the rolling stock technology sector, while rail infrastructure technologies include Mermec, Thermit Italiana, Cembre, Hexagon, Pantecnica and many others.
The exhibition area of the 2023 edition will feature dedicated spaces showcasing specific technologies and allowing for exciting discoveries and new business opportunities.
For the first time, EXPO Ferroviaria will feature the Aerospace Technology Hub, an area dedicated to companies presenting aerospace technologies applied to the railway sector. Organised in partnership with Italy’s National Aerospace Technology Cluster (CTNA), this space will showcase the integration between both industries at a scientific, design and technological level.
Several On-Track Displays will feature sections of tracks laid out in the exhibition areas for suppliers of rail-mounted vehicles and railway equipment to showcase their products, giving visitors the opportunity to visualise them in an authentic setting.
The Tunnelling Area will be dedicated to the construction and equipment of tunnels. Three new companies will be presenting their products: BORFLEX Services, Belt TS, and Saladino Engineering Services.
EXPO Ferroviaria also represents an opportunity to discuss the most recent updates on international trends, via an extensive programme of exhibitors’ presentations and conferences. Organised in collaboration with the show partners, the sessions allow visitors to participate in in-depth thematic discussions and get expert opinions on the technological trends of today and the future.
The sessions will touch on all the hot themes currently at the heart of the industry’s discussions, encompassing data transition, aerospace technologies applied to railways, luxury trains, ERTMS plans or sustainability.
